Most of the mobility from the Western Balkans to the European Union partner universities involves training students at the undergraduate, Masters and PhD level. Staff mobility mainly involves teacher training and faculty building between the various institutions.

A special characteristic of this project is the focus on students from groups that are currently under-represented in Western Balkan institutions for higher education, which are defined as refugees, internally displaced persons, women and Roma people (target group 3 students). Students from these groups are encouraged to participate in the mobility schemes and will be selected on the basis of a list of criteria described in the Selection Criteria of the Call for Applications.
